ITTF delegates, including President Petra Sörling, visit VBF after 100 years of Table Tennis celebrations

Ahmedabad, April 25, 2026: International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) President and IOC Member Petra Sörling, along with Leandro Olvech, Director, ITTF Foundation; Peter Karlsson, former World and European Table Tennis Champion; and Vita Dani, Governing Board Member of the ITTF Foundation and Co-Founder of Dani Sports Foundation, visited Ahmedabad’s Vijayi Bharat Foundation (VBF) to tour the facility and understand the workings of the high-performance centre.
The quartet, along with other delegates of ITTF, are currently in Gujarat to celebrate World Table Tennis Day 2026, commemorating 100 years of ITTF.
During their visit, the ITTF delegation, accompanied by VBF Directors Durgesh Agarwal and Dilip Thaker, toured the VBF campus, including its High-Performance Centre (HPC) and various Fields of Play (FOPs). During the tour, they praised the facilities at the Centre and discussed the future of sports in India and how it is a force for social change in the country.
The delegation expressed strong appreciation for VBF’s integrated approach, spanning the entire athlete pathway from grassroots development to elite high-performance sport
